Nanopsocetae is one of two major divisions of Troctomorpha in the order Psocodea (formerly Psocoptera),^[1]^[2] alongside Amphientometae. There are more than 20 families and 5,200 described species in Nanopsocetae.^[3]^[4]

Taxonomy

The clade contains four major groups, Phthiraptera (lice), Liposcelididae, Pachytroctidae and Sphaeropsocidae.^[4]

Order Psocodea is comprised of paraphyletic Psocoptera (book lice or bark lice) and monophyletic Phthiraptera (lice), both previously classified as orders.
