Charles Messier

Charles Messier (26 Jun 1730 – 12 April 1817) ialah ahli astronomi Perancis yang terkenal untuk menerbitkan katalog astronomi terdiri daripada objek-objek astronomi seperti nebula dan gugusan bintang yang dikenali sebagai 103 "objek Messier". Tujuan katalog ini untuk membantu pemburu komet (sepertinya) dan pemerhati astronomi lain untuk membezakan objek-objek dalam langit itu.
