The Fallen Idol (sh. Pali idol) je britanski crno-bijeli film snimljen 1948. u režiji Carola Reeda. Po žanru je kombinacija drame i trilera, a scenario je napisao Graham Greene prema vlastitoj priči The Basement Room. Naslovni lik, koga tumači Ralph Richardson, je batler u jednoj diplomatskoj misiji u Londonu, koji je diplomatovog 9-godišnjeg sina (čiji lik tumači Bobby Henrey) duboko impresionirao lažnim pričama o svojim pustolovinama. Radnja, prikazana iz dječakove perspektive, prikazuje kako batlerova žena smrtno strada nesretnim slučajem i kako dječak, nastojeći zaštititi svog idola, dovede do toga da batler postane optužen za njeno ubistvo. The Fallen Idol je premijerno prikazan na venecijanskoj Mostri gdje je Greene dobio nagradu za najbolji scenario. U samoj Britaniji je doživio veliki uspjeh, postavši jednim od najgledanijih filmova godine.
