Blaenau Gwent är en kommun (principal area) med county borough-status i södra Wales. Den gränsar till Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Caerphilly och Powys. Huvudort är Ebbw Vale.
Området blev en administrativ enhet 1974 som ett distrikt i det nya grevskapet Gwent. År 1996 ombildades det till kommun. Llanelli blev då överfört till det återupprättade Monmouthshire.
